Big Trak09-02-2007 I've started to use eBay to sell off all the stuff I no longer need or use. This will include all of my childhood toys in the loft. The goal is to get rid of as much of it as possible to de-clutter, if you will. I've hoarded this stuff for far too long and its probably not going to be worth much more in another decade than it is worth now anyway. To provide some incentive to get off my backside and start selling I've decided to use any money I make on eBay to purchase all the new parts and upgrades for the Mini. That way, my Mini won't get those new alloys or stage 1 kit until I've cleared my loft out and made enough money to buy them. So I need to get a move on. My first auctions are going better than I was expecting. One has no bids but the other has two people bidding against each other. I didn't pay very much for these DVDs but the popular one is no longer sold hence the interest. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a trouble-free sale. After that I'll start listing some more items. I have a list in my head of the items that I wish to sell on eBay, so I browsed the auction site looking for the same items that have recently sold to get a better idea about what they are (potentially) worth. A friend told me recently that any item will find its own market value. From my research it looks like I have enough unused items that I no longer want, lying around that will indeed pay for the Mini upgrades. While browsing the site I did get a little side-tracked now and then when I saw an item for sale that brought back childhood memories. Ah the power of nostalgia! A few sellers were auctioning off their Big Trak toys listed as not working after decades of being left in the loft. I recall wanting one of these programmable trucks, with the trailer, when I was a kid. I used to watch the adverts on TV where the Big Trak was programmed to take an apple from one room to another. They were far too expensive, so I was contented with my Action Man and Star Wars toys (which I will be selling on eBay). I considered bidding for a moment, but then thought no, I’m not that kid anymore, I want bigger toys now. Check out this site for info on Big Trak. There are a few other toys mentioned on that site which brought black memories. I still have my Vincent LF396 model from the Black Hole. I also remember playing with the Six Million Dollar Man Bionic Transport and Repair Station for hours on end. What toys did you play with as a kid that you remember the most? ![]() |
